These stem discs are a great way of displaying both dried and fresh flowers. They come in 3 different sizes and have been hand thrown on a potters wheel from stoneware clay. They are glazed in a matt oatmeal glaze. These stem discs were originally designed as an alternative to florists foam. They look attractive on their own for displaying dried flowers or they can be submerged in water in a dish for holding fresh stems. They should be washed in warm soapy water and dried out after use.
Small - Height approx. 2cm Diameter approx. 6.5cm
Medium - Height approx. 3.5cm Diameter approx. 7cm
Large - Height approx. 1.5cm Diameter approx. 12cm
Comparisons - The small stem disc is low and is good for holding a few stems. It is ideal in for Ikebana. When deciding on a size you may want to consider if the disc is going in a particular dish or vase and those dimensions. The medium disc is not much wider than the small but the holes are deeper. (Height 3.5cm, Diameter 7cm) The large disc is flatter and much wider for holding more stems. (Height 1.5cm, Diameter 12cm)
