Plate - Large, Oatmeal Shadow no.1

This plate has been hand thrown on a potters wheel from a buff stoneware clay. The matt oatmeal glaze has been poured and turned on the plate to create a 'shadow' effect where the glaze is different thicknesses.  In places the glaze drips over the side giving a relaxed, rustic look.  The base is left unglazed and shows my makers mark.  As with all my work, each item is unique and with these plates the shadow pattern will vary.  

The plate is dishwasher safe although hand washing is generally recommended for handmade ceramics.

The environment is important to me and I want the packaging of my items to be effective, attractive and sustainable. I use a variety of packaging materials depending on how the item is getting to its new home. This may in part be reusing less 'green' packaging that can be reused again, or using my own sustainable packaging.
